From a very young age, Tyler Rapke has been fascinated by the human body and amazed by the power of human touch. She felt a strong calling to be of service to others and to help ease their pain and suffering in the most impactful way possible. When it came time to choose her career, she found massage therapy to be the path that led her to a place where she could facilitate healing in those that sought her touch. Practicing massage has brought more joy and fulfillment to her life than she ever knew was possible.
Tyler was born and raised in Paonia, Colorado and received her massage therapy education at Crestone Healing Arts Center in Crestone, Colorado. She found her home here in Montana and feels very blessed to be able to offer the people of this beautiful state the care that they deserve.
She specializes in deep tissue massage and loves working with people who are suffering from injuries, chronic pain, and bone and joint degradation of a wide variety. She uses accumulated knowledge to facilitate customized treatments that enables each person who receives a massage from her to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally. Tyler is passionate about her career in reducing the pain and stress of others and her work speaks for itself in that each person who comes to her space leaves feeling better than when they came.
When she is not doing massage, you can find Tyler outdoors with her husband hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, or rock climbing.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of firm, manipulative practice that focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). The primary goal of deep tissue massage is to reduce pain and discomfort, while improving the body’s ability to heal itself. Manipulative approaches such as deep tissue massage have been proven to reduce chronic pain, lower blood pressure, break up scar tissue, reduce stress, anxiety and muscle tension, improve athletic recovery and performance, and reduce symptoms of arthritis. Deep tissue massage helps to break down adhesions that disrupt circulation, and cause a limited range of motion and inflammation. Deep tissue massage has also been proven to increase oxytocin and serotonin levels in the brain.
Reflexology is an alternative method that involves the application of pressure on specific points in the feet. These points are theorized to be reflex areas that correlate to different body organs, systems, and muscle groups and that by pressing on these points you create beneficial effects in your body. Reflexology can be used on its own to decrease anxiety, asthma, headaches, PMS, muscle tension, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and cancer treatment, while enhancing kidney function, relaxation and sleep. Reflexology can also be used to compliment another modality.
Reiki is a healing touch technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and overall healing. It is based on the theory that an unseen life force energy flows through each one of us and when our life force energy is low we become more susceptible to illness and disease. On the contrary, when our life force energy is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki is a natural, simple, and safe method of healing and self-improvement. Reiki treats the whole person, physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally and is effective in helping virtually every known illness and ailment. Reiki can be received both on its own or as a compliment to another modality.
